chara concept experimentation

some character experiments.

A lot of my characters start to feel like they are blending together and honestly I want to branch out at least a little on ocassion. So my friend gave me a frustrating challenge.

To tell the truth like always I complained the whole time, wanted to rip my hair out, furrowed my brows in frustration and generally speaking cursed more than I should. Im the little kid who does the dishes when told but does so kicking and screaming and what not.

So...I really really hated doing it during the process...but listened because I knew it would better me in the end. strangely enough the one on the bottom is the result. She gave me a hairstyle and told me "indie" and then said GO. But before she said indie I assumed emo from the hair XD; hence the design on the right.

The left bottom was part 2. I actually dont feel like he's COMPLETELY different from my other characters but he definitely has his own sort of flaire. But from THERE...I suddenly felt liberated.

And I just kept going. What are things I dont draw? Fros? Hell messy hair in general? Okay I can go with that! *scribbles*

And to be honest the one Im' most proud of is the one on the top right. Armless mack haha. because honestly...He's a MAN! A scruffy, full fledged, MANLY man.


Tomorrow I'm going to go to the different types of click and scene stores at the mall, and sketch the kind of people who shop there It feels amazingly good to branch out.
